In the 1980s, an Italian company attempted to manufacture an all-electric horizontal flask molding line. Despite decades of effort, the molding machine and flask puncher remained unelectrified, and the use of hydraulic transmission remained the only viable option. In 2014, ABM initiated the development of an all-electric and all-servo horizontal flask molding line, which was successfully manufactured and put into production. This achievement made ABM the first manufacturer in the world to complete an all-electric and all-servo horizontal flask molding line. The traditional hydraulic molding line, with a flask of approximately 1000mm, requires approximately 400KW of power, whereas the same electric molding line only necessitates 250KW. Furthermore, a hydraulic drive requires energy regardless of whether the oil cylinder is in motion. The electric drive is designed to consume no energy when idle, resulting in an actual energy consumption of only tens of degrees per hour for the all-electric flask molding line. Furthermore, the electric drive is highly accurate, outperforming the oil cylinder. It also eliminates the disadvantages of flammability and environmental pollution associated with hydraulic oil. Additionally, the all-electric molding line offers remote debugging, remote diagnosis, remote operation, and more, significantly reducing maintenance workload.
Suitable for grey iron, ductile iron and steel casting, the all-electric moulding line is capable of producing all the castings produced by conventional moulding lines, with lower running costs and simpler maintenance.
